Popular amongst Jamaicans for its thin peal and tasty greenish-white core. This particular specie tends to be a bit more sweeter and sour than the other species in the Psidium genus. When left on the tree for longer periods, the natural oxidation from the environment will decrease the sour character of the guava. So, depending on the owners choice, one can appreciate its sweet and sour attributes. Moreover, because of its thinner trunk, it is best to purchase an older specimen that has been grown properly with a sturdy stake.
