As a slow grower, the African Boxwood retains the hedged shaped longer. Currently along the Sahara Desert, botanists have identified 16 subspecies. Because of its African descent, they tend to have a greater resistance to higher temperatures. An excellent specimen for Northern and Southern California, especially in the inland districts.
