Its succulent nature allows it to thrive without an adequate water source. Excellent for desert and tropical garden themes. The enormous lower base distinguishes it from the bottle palm (Hyophorbe lageniculis) and drooping slender leaflets-ponytail-like. When pruned by a grower correctly, the foliage is able to transform from a single to a multiple array of mini-foliages.
