Grass-like perennial with thin iris-like foliage that has a rich yellow variegation. Grows to 6-12 inches tall and spreads by rhizomes. Useful massed or as an accent; use to light up a dark area of the pond. Plant in full sun to light shade in soil that is moist or regularly irrigated. In a pond the water depth should be right at the soil line or up 2 to 4 inches above crown. Hardy to <15 degrees F. The rich yellow foliage distinguishes this plant from A. g. 'Variegatus'. Especially good for pot or tub subject or as a groundcover. This description is based on research and personal experiences.
